March 20, 2005

Howdy Caballeros and welcome guests.

First I would like to say thanks to all The Tejas Caballeros members. We have a great group of people who have really made the club what it is. Next I want to thank the 2004 TC officers. The work done in 2004 has really set the foundation for the club to do even more in 2005.

In 2004 the club was able to formalize a work party strategy that resulted in two stages get ting new or updated buildings and may other improvements where made to the look and functionality of the range. Sunday practice shoots were added and a May homecoming match setup which included dutch oven cooking. Also, Three Legged Dog put together the FIRST ANNAUL ALL BLACKPOWER SHOOT which has recently been mentioned in both Shoot magazine and the Cowboy Chronicle.

Looking forward to 2005 the Club Officers want to build on the momentum of 2004 and continue to grow the monthly shooting match attendance and improve the range. We met in early January and laid out our plans for what we would like to accomplish in 2005. We agreed to start with the following list:

1. Incorporation of the club.
2. New targets. (At least 30 more.)
3. Improve 2 more stages.
4. Increase membership. (Average of 80 per shoot.)
5. Turn the Annual BP match into the Texas State BP Match.
6. Add more shoots.
7. Create a static stage.
8. Add a building to the range to store club equipment.
9. Have fun.

As I write this we are already three months into 2005 and have seen several of our 2005 goals already accomplished. We were able to purchase 30 targets to expand our shooting opportunities. El Oso Plata has completed the incorporation of the club so we are officially incorporated in the State of Texas. Hogleg Willy is in the process of building us a new store for stage 6 and we will move the current stage 6 to stage 7 with the hope of getting 2 for 1. If you check out our WEB site you will see we have added about 5 extra shoots this year. Stage 4 has been converted into our static stage which will give members the opportunity to measure their shooting improvements. Finally, we continue discussions with SASS to host the Texas State BP Match in July.

I want to thank everyone who has helped us make such great progress so far this year. Remember the club is only as good as its members and everything that gets done is because of active participation and support by those same members.

Please continue!

Thanks,

Texas Heat and all of the 2005 Officers.
